Ellie Pritts

Ellie Pritts is a new media artist whose work traverses the boundaries between physical and virtual space, blending analog and digital processes to create immersive works grounded in biology, perception, and transformation. Her interdisciplinary approach draws from photography, video synthesis, experimental animation, and code, resulting in work that is at once visceral and otherworldly.

A native of Chicago’s Humboldt Park and of Hispanic heritage, Pritts is a product of the city’s public school system, where early access to music and visual art education shaped her artistic trajectory. Her practice is deeply informed by her lived experience with DADA2, a rare genetic disease that has profoundly impacted her creative process. In response, she has developed a methodology that embraces technological experimentation while remaining rooted in embodied experience and slowness.

Pritts’ work has been featured in Forbes, WIRED, Smithsonian Magazine, and The Art Newspaper, and she has collaborated with institutions and brands including OpenAI, Adobe, Microsoft, Apple, and Hyatt. In 2024, her Reverse Zoology series was included in Bright Moments: 2021–2024 at Christie’s Post-War to Present auction, where the collection sold for over £200,000.
