Ellie Pritts is a new media artist creating immersive works through a fusion of analog and digital processes. Grounded in biology and perception, her practice spans photography, video synthesis, experimental animation, and code, resulting in experiences that are visceral, transformative, and otherworldly.

A Hispanic artist raised in Chicago, Pritts was an early student of the arts and sciences. Her unconventional education included studying microbiology at Northeastern Illinois University at age 12, followed by film photography at Columbia College at 15, alongside rigorous training as a classical cellist. This synthesis of technical precision and creative expression continues to shape her methodology today.

Her practice is further informed by her lived experience with DADA2, a rare genetic disease that has profoundly impacted her creative process. In response, she has developed a methodology that embraces technological experimentation while remaining rooted in embodied experience and slowness.

In 2024, her Reverse Zoology series was included in Bright Moments: 2021–2024 at Christie’s Post-War to Present auction, which realized over £200,000.
