Ellie is of Mexican and Irish descent and hails from Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. She was educated in the Chicago Public Schools system and received much of her early art and music education through programs for CPS students.
Ellie’s battle with the rare disease DADA2 has impacted her physical abilities and artistic practice. Despite these challenges, she has embraced technology, particularly generative AI, to continue her creative journey. Her resilience and adaptation reflect a pioneering spirit in creative technology, allowing her to craft immersive worlds that empower viewers to feel limitless. In 2024, Christie’s auctioned work from Ellie’s “Reverse Zoology” series as part of the Bright Moments: 2021 - 2024 Complete Collection in their Post-War To Present live auction for over £200,000. Christie's praised it as “a historic, singular collection capturing the essence of innovation in digital art by leading generative and AI artists.”
